Ocean Builders is a construction company based in Nags Head, North Carolina which provides construction management services for clients primarily in the Outer Banks. The company was formed in 2004 as the coastal construction division of the JFP Group. The company is owned by 3 partners. Peter Kauffman is the managing partner of the company. Tommy Twiddy is the Construction Manager for field operations. Mike Corwin is the Chief Financial Officer. A professional approach to construction management and expertise in coastal construction methods differentiates Ocean Builders from other builders in the area. Ocean Builders holds an unlimited general contractor's license for the State of North Carolina.

Peter Kaufmann - Partner
Mr. Kauffman is responsible for the operations of the company. This includes the construction on marketing of The Landings at Sugar Creek.Mr. Kauffman is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and in 2006 he moved full time to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to manage Sugar Creek. Mr. Kauffman is a partner in Ocean Builder, a licensed construction company in North Carolina. Prior to starting Ocean Builders, Mr. Kauffman was a partner in The Kauffman Jacobs Co. and The JFP Group which he developed and built more than $30 million dollars worth of commercial and residential projects in Ohio. Before that he worked for Dugan & Meyers, an Ohio based general contracting company. He has over 20 years of experience constructing new commercial and residential projects. Mr. Kauffman has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. Mr. Kauffman's projects have ranged from $3 million - $250 million.

Michael Corwin - Managing Partner
Mr. Corwin is responsible for all financial aspects of the company. Mr. Corwin is a partner in Ocean Builders, a licensed construction company in North Carolina. Mr. Corwin has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and has been a Certified Public Accountant for 25 years. He worked for Coppers& Lybrand in their Richmond, Virginia office and later had his own practice in South Hill, Virginia. Mr. Corwin is also partner of Beaver Creek Executive Center II, LLC which owns over 22,000 ft. of commercial and residential space. Mr. Corwin also serves on the Board of Directors of Citizens Community Bank in South Hill, Virginia which has 4 locations.

Tommy Twiddy - Construction Manager
Mr. Twiddy is responsible for all field constructions and is a lifetime resident of Dare County, NC. Mr. Twiddy was hired by the Town of Nags Head as a Building Inspector. While with the Town of Nags Head, Mr. Twiddy was responsible for the inspection of existing buildings and new construction projects to ensure compliance with state electrical, plumbing, building and mechanical code requirements. In 2004, Mr. Twiddy helped form Ocean Builders. Mr. Twiddy hold many licenses and certifications; NC General Contractors License, Plumbing & HVAC License, Building Inspector Level I, Grade I Collection System Operator, B-Distribution for Water Systems, Unlimited Electrical License, Electrical Inspector Level II, Plumbing Inspector Level I, C Well Water Treatment Operator, Subsurface Systems Operator & Grade II Wastwater.
